Kofi Annan, of Ghana, is the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations. The first Secretary-General to be elected from the ranks of United Nations staff, he began his term on 1 January 1997.
GENEVA, 8 April (UN Information Service) -- The Administrative Committee on Coordination (ACC), the highest level coordination body in the United Nations system, will hold its 1999 spring session at the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) headquarters at Geneva on 9 and 10 April.
