The Security Council decided today to extend the mandate of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH) until 31 January 2026, as Council members spotlighted the Office’s critical support to a country in the throes of multidimensional crisis.
On 1 July 2025, the Panel of Experts on South Sudan briefed the members of the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 2206 (2015), in connection with the Panel’s final report submitted in pursuance of paragraph 18 of resolution 2731 (2024).
The Security Council today decided to extend until 28 January 2026 the mandate of (UNMHA) to support the implementation of the Agreement on the City of Hudaydah and Ports of Hudaydah, Salif and Ras Issa as set out in the 2018 Stockholm Agreement.
There are “reasonable grounds to believe that war crimes and crimes against humanity have been and are continuing to be committed in Darfur”, an International Criminal Court prosecutor told the Security Council today, underscoring that her office is progressing towards delivering justice for past and ongoing atrocities, even amid limited resources and attempts to obstruct its mandate.

On 8 July 2025, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 2653 (2022) approved the addition of the entries specified below to its Sanctions List of individuals and entities subject to the measures imposed by the Security Council and adopted under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations.

Members will hear a briefing by Miroslav Jenča, Assistant Secretary-General for Europe, Central Asia and Americas, Departments of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs and Peace Operations, on the activities of a United Nations’ special political mission. Ghada Fathy Waly, Executive Director, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, is also expected to brief the 15-member organ.
