SECRETARY-GENERAL CONCERNED ABOUT PRECARIOUS SITUATION IN CONGO-BRAZZAVILLE

19970616 The following statement was issued on Saturday, 14 June, by Secretary-General Kofi Annan:

The Secretary-General continues to be concerned about the precarious situation in Congo-Brazzaville. He is gratified, though, that the parties have agreed to seek a negotiated solution to the conflict, and he urges them to respect the cease-fire.
