United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres today announced the appointment of Georgette Gagnon of Canada as his new Deputy Special Representative (Political) for Afghanistan in the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Julia Sanchez of Peru as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in the Dominican Republic, with the host Government’s approval. Her start date was 1 September.
