The General Assembly will hold a high-level meeting on Improving Global Road Safety and take action on a declaration tracking progress in that area, A/80/L.95. Held 20-21 July, the overall theme of the meeting will be “Scaling up and accelerating implementation of commitments to halving road traffic deaths and injuries by 2030.” The event will bring together Government leaders and experts and officials of the UN, civil society, academia, the private sector and philanthropic foundations to advance progress in meeting the goal of halving road deaths and injuries by 2030 that was agreed in the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
