Activities of Secretary-General in Republic of Korea, 11–12 August

The Secretary-General arrived in Seoul, Republic of Korea, from Mongolia, on the evening of Thursday, 11 August.

On Friday, he attended a luncheon hosted by Yoon Suk-yeol, President of the Republic of Korea.

The Secretary-General thanked the President for his invitation to the Republic of Korea and for the rich discussions they had on non-proliferation, the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons Review Conference and climate action among other topics.  In a tweet, the Secretary-General underscored that the Republic of Korea's strong commitments are a solid contribution to peace among nations and peace with nature.

The luncheon was followed by a meeting with Park Jin, Minister for Foreign Affairs.

The Secretary-General left for New York on Friday afternoon.
