New Permanent Representative of Serbia Presents Credentials

The new Permanent Representative of Serbia to the United Nations, Nemanja Stevanović, presented his credentials to the Secretariat today.
Before his latest appointment, Mr. Stevanović served as State Secretary in his country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, beginning in 2016. Between 2014 and 2016, he was Special Adviser to the Prime Minister, and previously Special Adviser to the First Deputy Prime Minister.
A lawyer by training, Mr. Stevanović practised in Belgrade from 2011 until 2013. He has also served as Vice Consul at Serbia’s Consulate General in New York City, from 2005 to 2007, and as a Foreign Ministry diplomat in 2005.
Mr. Stevanović holds a Master of Laws degree from Fordham University in the United States and a diploma in law from the University of Kragujevac in Serbia. He has been a member of the Belgrade Bar Association since 2011.
