New Permanent Observer for Gulf Cooperation Council Presents Letter of Appointment

Mohammed Alnowaiser, the new Permanent Observer for the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf to the United Nations, presented his letter of appointment to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.
Beginning in 2014 until his latest appointment, Mr. Alnowaiser was Director of the Office of Human Rights at the Gulf Cooperation Council’s Secretariat in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
From 2009 to 2014, he served in the Council’s Department of the Legislative Councils, and in the Political Affairs Department since 2007. In 2003, he moved to the Office of the Gulf Cooperation Advisory Board in Muscat, Oman.
Mr. Alnowaiser first joined the Gulf Cooperation Council in 1996 as Director in the Private Office of the Secretary-General.
A 1995 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University in the United States, he holds a degree in political science.
