Secretary-General Condemns Terrorist Attacks in Pakistan against People Celebrating Muslim Holiday

The following statement was issued today by the Spokesman for UN Secretary-General António Guterres:

The Secretary-General condemns the terrorist attack against a university dormitory in the northern city of Peshawar in Pakistan resulting in at least nine people killed and many more injured when dozens of people had gathered to celebrate Eid al Milad-un Nabi, a sacred Muslim holiday.

The Secretary-General extends his condolences to the bereaved families and to the Government and people of Pakistan.  He wishes a speedy recovery to the injured.
