New Permanent Representative of Côte d’Ivoire Presents Credentials

The new Permanent Representative of Côte d’Ivoire to the United Nations, Bernard Tanoh-Boutchoué, presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.

Prior to his new appointment, Mr. Tanoh-Boutchoué was his country’s Ambassador to Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan since 2016.  Resident in Moscow, he became Ambassador to the Russian Federation in 2011 and was accredited, in addition, to Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Latvia and Ukraine in 2012.  In 2013, he was also accredited to Lithuania.

Between 2008 and 2011, Mr. Tanoh-Boutchoué was Ambassador to Egypt and Sudan, resident in Cairo.  From 2003 to 2008, he served as Director of the United Nations and International Organizations Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  He served as Counsellor in his country’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York from 1996 to 2003.

Mr. Tanoh-Boutchoué holds a law degree from the University of Abidjan-Cocody, a Bachelor of Arts in modern literature from the University of Abidjan and a Baccalauréat in literature from the Lycée Classique de Bingerville, Côte d’Ivoire.

Born on 17 July 1950, he is married and has three children.
