New Permanent Representative of United States Presents Credentials

The new Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations, Nikki R. Haley, presented her credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.

Prior to her appointment, Ms. Haley served as Governor of the State of South Carolina, having been elected in November 2010.  Before that, she was an account supervisor at FCR, Inc. in Charlotte, North Carolina, the firm’s first female executive.  She returned home to help grow her family’s small business.

Born in Bamberg, South Carolina, Ms. Haley was educated at that state’s Clemson University, graduating in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.

She is married and has two children.
