New Permanent Representative of Cuba Presents Credentials

The new Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, presented her credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.

Before her latest appointment, Ms. Rodriguez Camejo was her country’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva since 2013.  From 2009 to 2013, she was Counsellor to the Director of Multilateral Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  She worked in the same capacity with the Assistant Director of Political, Legal and Non-Aligned Movement Affairs from 2007 to 2009.

With Government experience exceeding two decades, Ms. Rodriguez Camejo has served as First Secretary specializing in disarmament and international security affairs at the United Nations Office in Geneva between 2002 and 2005, and as Third Secretary specializing in economic and environmental affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Havana from 1995 to 1999.

Ms. Rodriguez Camejo holds a diploma in international relations and development from the International Institute of Social Studies in The Hague, and a bachelor’s degree in international economic relations from the Raúl Roa García Higher Institute of International Relations in Havana.

Born in 1968, she is married and has one daughter.
