Condemning Deadly Suicide Bombing in Pakistan, Secretary-General Stresses ‘Nothing Justifies Terrorism’
The following statement was issued today by the Spokesman for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon:
The Secretary-General condemns today’s suicide bombing close to the premises of a polio eradication centre in Quetta, Pakistan, reportedly killing at least 15 people and wounding 25 others.
The Secretary-General reiterates that nothing justifies terrorism. He urges the Government of Pakistan to take all necessary measures to swiftly bring to justice the perpetrators of such attacks.
The Secretary-General extends his condolences to the families of the victims and wishes the injured a speedy recovery. He expresses his sympathies to the people and Government of Pakistan.
