Security Council Sanctions Committee Concerning South Sudan Meets with Panel of Experts on Panel’s Final Report
On 14 January 2016, members of the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 2206 (2015) concerning South Sudan were briefed by the Coordinator of the Panel of Experts on South Sudan in connection with the Panel’s final report, which was submitted in pursuance of paragraph 18 (d) of the resolution.
During the deliberations, the Committee considered the findings and recommendations contained in the final report.
Under “Other Matters”, the Chair outlined some of his ideas for the conduct of the Committee’s work during the course of 2016, including a proposed meeting of the Committee with South Sudan and the regional States in connection with the final report. The Chair also expressed his intention to visit South Sudan early in 2016.
