New Permanent Representative of Mali Presents Credentials

The new Permanent Representative of Mali to the United Nations, Issa Konfourou, presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Konfourou served as Technical Adviser to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and African Integration, from 2014. Between 2008 and 2014, he was Diplomatic Advisor to the Prime Minister.
Having joined Mali’s Public Service as a Foreign Affairs Advisor in 1999, Mr. Konfourou served as Third and Second Counsellor at the country’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York between 2000 and 2007.
Mr. Konfourou holds master’s degrees in jurisprudence from the National School of Administration of Bamako in Mali and in international relations from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in France.
Born on 1 January 1970, he is married and has three children.
