Adds Three Entities to Its Sanctions List

 

On 2 June 2014, the Security Council Committee pursuant to resolutions 1267 (1999) and 1989 (2011) approved the addition of the entries specified below to its Al‑Qaida Sanctions List of individuals and entities subject to the assets freeze, travel ban and arms embargo set out in paragraph 1 of Security Council resolution 2083 (2012) adopted under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations.

Active in the Sahel/Sahara region.

Good quality a.k.a.: a) Les Enturbannés b) The Veiled F.k.a.: na Address: a) Algeria b) Mali c) Niger Listed on: 2 Jun. 2014 Other information: Founded in 2012 as a splinter group of the Organization of Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb (QE.T.14.01). On 20 Aug. 2013, Al Moulathamoun merged with the Mouvement pour l’Unification et le Jihad en Afrique de l’Ouest (MUJAO) (QE.M.134.12) and established Al Mourabitoun (QE.M.141.14). Associated with the Organization of Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb (QE.T.14.01) and led by Mokhtar Belmokhtar (QI.B.136.03). Active in the Sahel/Sahara region.

Associated with the Organization of Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb (QE.T.14.01) and led by Mokhtar Belmokhtar (QI.B.136.03). Active in the Sahel/Sahara region.
