New Permanent Representative of Former Yugoslav Republic


Of Macedonia Presents Credentials

The new Permanent Representative of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia to the United Nations, Vasile Andonoski, today presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.


Until his appointment, Mr. Andonoski was a member of the Cabinet of the Minister for Foreign Affairs in charge of public relations since 2012.  Between 2008 and 2012, he served as Minister Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission at his country’s embassy in Beijing, China.


Mr. Andonoski was the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2007 to 2008.  Before that, he was Deputy Head of Sector for Public Diplomacy, serving concurrently as Deputy Chief Editor of the foreign policy magazine Crossroads and the monthly edition of the Macedonian Diplomatic Bulletin from 2006 to 2007.


Between 2002 and 2006, Mr. Andonoski held the post of Counsellor at the embassy in Rome, Italy.  He served an earlier tenure as Foreign Ministry Spokesman from 2000 until 2002.  He was previously a Counsellor in the Foreign Ministry’s Department of Analytics until 2000, having joined the foreign service in 1999.


Mr. Andonoski studied international relations and journalism at the University of St. Chyril and Methodius, MK.


He was born on 24 December, 1961.
