Calls for Dialogue to Defuse Tensions

 

The following statement was issued today by the Spokesperson for Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon:

The Secretary-General condemns the bomb attack at a mosque in Riffa, Bahrain, and expresses his concern aboutthe recent increase inviolence in the Kingdom.  The Secretary-General reiterates his call on the Government and people of Bahrain to engage in an all–inclusive, meaningful dialogue in order to defuse tensions, promote reforms and foster reconciliation.
