New Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan Presents Credentials

The new Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the United Nations, Dilyor Khakimov, today presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.


Until his appointment, Mr. Khakimov was Head of the United States and Americas Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2011.  From 2009 to 2011, he served as Deputy Chief of Mission to the United States.


Between 2006 and 2009, Mr. Khakimov was Deputy Head of the Foreign Ministry’s Main Analytical Department, having headed the United Nations and International Organizations Department from 2005 to 2006.  He was Deputy Head of Department from 2004 to 2005.


Mr. Khakimov was educated at the Mara Institute of Technology in Malaysia, and at Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies and the Tashkent State Economic University.


Born in Tashkent on 1 November 1969, he is married and has three children.
