Secretary-General Conveys Condolences on Death of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince

 

The following statement was issued on 22 October by the Spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon:

The Secretary-General has learned with great sadness of the passing of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz al‑Saud.  He played a significant role in his country for many years and was respected around the world for his wisdom and statesmanship.

The Secretary-General conveys his deepest condolences to the royal family, as well as to the Government and people of Saudi Arabia.
