First Committee Completes Bureau for Sixty-Sixth General Assembly Session
The First Committee (Disarmament and International Security) met this morning to fill vacant positions on its Bureau for the upcoming sixty-sixth session of the General Assembly.
It elected the following Vice-Chairs by acclamation: Amr Aljowaily ( Egypt), from the Group of African States; Mohammad Almutairi ( Kuwait), from the Group of Asian States; and Ayesha Borland ( Belize), from the Group of Latin American and Caribbean States. Archil Gheghechkori (Georgia), from the Group of Western European and Other States, was elected as Rapporteur.
The First Committee will meet again at 3 p.m. on Friday, 30 September.
