New Permanent Representative of Burkina Faso Presents Credentials

The new Permanent Representative of Burkina Faso to the United Nations, Der Kogda, today presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.


Before his latest appointment, Mr. Kogda was Director-General of Multilateral Relations in his country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Cooperation since 2008.  From 2006 to 2008 he served as Coordinator of the National Commission for Refugees.


Between 2000 and 2006, he was Second Counsellor on economic, environmental and development matters at the Permanent Mission of Burkina Faso to the United Nations in New York, prior to which he headed the United Nations and Specialized Agencies Service in the General Directorate of International Cooperation.


Mr. Kogda was educated in Burkina Faso, Cameroon and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.


Born in Kolinka in 1961, he is married and has three children.
