New Permanent Representative of Dominica Presents Credentials

Vince Henderson, the new Permanent Representative of Dominica to the United Nations, today presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Henderson was Dominica’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Labour since November 2008. From 2000 to 2008, he served successively as Minister for Housing and Physical Planning, Minister for Agriculture and the Environment, and Minister for Education, Human Resource Development, Sports and Youth Affairs.
First elected to the Parliament of the Commonwealth of Dominica in 2000, serving until December 2009, Mr. Henderson was previously an educator, starting as a teacher of chemistry and integrated sciences in 1991 and rising to Acting Deputy Principal of the Isaiah Thomas Secondary School.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Huddersfield and Holbourn College in the United Kingdom, a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the American College for Computer and Information Systems in Birmingham, Alabama, United States, and a diploma in education from New Mexico State University, also in the United States.
