ACTIVITIES OF SECRETARY-GENERAL IN JORDAN, 14-15 JANUARY

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon arrived in Amman, Jordan from Cairo, Egypt, in the afternoon of Wednesday, 14 January.

He was greeted at Queen Alia Airport by the Jordanian Foreign Minister, Salah Eddine al Bashir.

His first meeting was with His Majesty King Abdullah bin al Hussein.  This was followed by a meeting with Her Majesty Queen Rania al-Abdullah.

He met with the United Nations country team in Jordan, and then attended a dinner hosted by Foreign Minister Bashir.

The Secretary-General departed Jordan for Israel the following morning, Thursday, 15 January.
