Secretary-General Strongly Condemns Deadly Bombing in Pakistan
The following statement was issued today by the Spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon:
The Secretary-General condemns, in the strongest possible terms, today’s bomb attack at a market in the Pakistani town of Peshawar which reportedly killed at least 49 people, including children and women, and injured many more. No cause can justify such indiscriminate violence. He extends his condolences to the families of the victims and to the Government of Pakistan, and wishes those injured a full recovery.
