Security Council Press Statement on Haiti Mission Plane Crash

The following Security Council press statement on the crash of a United Nations flight affiliated with the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) was read out on Saturday, 10 October, by Council President Le Luong Minh ( Viet Nam):

The members of the Security Council have learned with deep distress and shock of the deadly crash of a United Nations flight in Haiti affiliated with the MINUSTAH mission, carrying 11 passengers, including crew.

On behalf of the members of the Council, I wish to convey our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this terrible incident.
