United Nations Television Joins Livestation

United Nations Television (UN TV), the official television channel of the United Nations, is now featured as a channel on the online television news service aggregator Livestation.

Livestation is a service that aggregates TV news channels from global sources on the internet and on mobile.  Livestation enables news networks to increase reach amongst a fast growing audience of more than 1.5 million regular viewers.

The UN TV channel will feature live coverage of meetings, events and news conferences, as well as original programming from UN TV such as the flagship programme 21st Century, a monthly 26-minute documentary-style news magazine, and UN in Action, an award-winning series of short features on the work of the United Nations in the field.

Viewers will also see programmes from the UN system’s agencies, funds and Programmes, and independent productions related to the UN’s work, such as Global Connections, a talk show with UN officials hosted by Bill Miller.

“We are very excited that UN TV will now be available to an international audience on Livestation,” said Ahmad Fawzi, Director of the UN News and Media Division.  “The channel offers viewers a window on the deliberations of UN Member States and on its important work around the globe.”

Matteo Berlucchi, CEO of Livestation, welcomed UN TV on Livestation, saying: “We like to think that our service can help both majority and minority voices reach more people around the world.  One of the key roles of the United Nations is to increase the global awareness of the important topics which are shaping our world today.  By offering UN TV alongside BBC, Al Jazeera, Deutsche Welle, Euronews and all our other international news partners we are sure we can help in this important task.”

UN TV is available at http://www.livestation.com/UNTV on the Livestation desktop player.
