New Websites Launched for United Nations Meetings Coverage and Press Releases

 

The Department of Public Information is pleased to announce the launch of new websites for United Nations meetings coverage summaries and press releases, in English (www.un.org/en/unpress) and French (www.un.org/fr/unpress).

The new sites offer a simplified user-friendly design that differentiates product by type (meetings coverage, press releases, press conferences, and briefings of the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General).  The websites also offer the possibility of retrieving information as it relates to the main organs of the United Nations, and headlines are now more legible, noting a highlight of the content of the document.

The sites have links to various news- and media-related websites at United Nations Headquarters and overseas Offices.  They have consolidated and improved access to coverage of intergovernmental meetings, some while still in progress; statements by the Secretary-General; transcripts of the Spokesperson’s noon briefing; summaries of press conferences; and other United Nations press releases.

Managed by the Meetings Coverage Section of the Department of Public Information, the sites further provide archives of these various resources dating back to October 1995.
