TO VISIT SRI LANKA 20-26 FEBRUARY

 

The following statement was issued today by the Spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon:

The Secretary-General has requested Angela Kane, Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs, to visit Sri Lanka from 20 to 26 February.  The visit is part of her regular consultations in the areas of her responsibility.  She had previously visited Sri Lanka in February 2007.  The primary purpose of her visit is to review the work of the United Nations Country Team in Sri Lanka in all key areas.
