SECRETARY-GENERAL COMMENDS PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN FOR PEACEFUL ELECTIONS,
ENCOURAGED BY COMMITMENT TO RESPECT DEMOCRATIC PROCESS
The following statement was issued today by the Spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon:
The Secretary-General has been closely following developments in Pakistan. He commends the people of Pakistan for the largely peaceful conduct of yesterday’s parliamentary elections and is encouraged by the commitment of all concerned to respect the democratic process.
