SECRETARY-GENERAL STRONGLY CONDEMNS SUICIDE CAR BOMBING IN YEMEN
The following statement was issued today by the Spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon:
The Secretary-General is appalled by the killing today of seven Spanish tourists and two Yemeni nationals, and the wounding of eight other people, in a suicide car bombing near an archaeological site in the province of Marib in Yemen. He strongly condemns this terrorist attack and reiterates that no cause can justify such acts of indiscriminate violence against civilians. He extends his deepest condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the Governments and people of both countries.
