PHOTO EXHIBIT ON VIENNA AND UNITED NATIONS ON DISPLAY AT UN HEADQUARTERS
IN NEW YORK, 24 SEPTEMBER - 5 OCTOBER
The Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna, Austria (UNOV), Antonia Maria Costa, and other distinguished speakers will launch a photo exhibition on Vienna and the United Nations at Headquarters in New York, Tuesday, 25 September at 2:45 p.m.
The exhibit will be on display in the Conference Building First Basement, also called the Neck Area, from 24 September to 5 October. It will provide an insight into the history of the United Nations in Vienna, the work of the United Nations organizations based in Vienna and Austria’s role in the United Nations. Joint projects of the city of Vienna and the United Nations, as well as a review of important conferences, meetings and ceremonies, also form part of the exhibition.
Vienna is the only city in the European Union to host one of the four United Nations headquarters worldwide. In the nearly 30 years of its existence, the United Nations headquarters building in Vienna has become a landmark of the city.
