TOP CHINESE EXECUTIVES TO DISCUSS TRENDS IN BUSINESS, TECHNOLOGY


AT UNITED NATIONS, 23 AUGUST

 


The China Top Executives and Fortune 500 Enterprises Summit, to be held on 23 August at the United Nations, will gather more than 40 top executives of leading companies from China and private sector representatives from the United States to discuss and examine economic relations between the United States and China, trends in business and technology, and to share experiences and strategies in steering private companies of an emerging and evolving China into the global business arena.


The event, to be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. in Conference Room 5, is organized by Friendship Across Frontier with the support of the United Nations Global Alliance for Information and Communication Technologies and Development, Department of Economic and Social Affairs.


Top executives from China’s industries in the areas of information technology, financial investment, real estate development, medicine, biotechnology, energy, automobiles, petroleum, logistics and port management are expected to participate.  Speakers include Marc Iyeki, Managing Director, New York Stock Exchange; Lulu Zhou, President, Friendship Across Frontier; Min Zhang, Chairman, Beijing Fstar Consulting; Dou Zheng Gang, Chairman, Hang Zhou Jinjiang Group; Zhije Wang, Chairman, Beijing Compass Technology Development; and Wang Feng, President, Anhua Gujing Tribute Wine.  Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Sha Zukang will make closing remarks.


The Global Alliance will also organize a panel on the role of information technology in shaping the future of the world economy and society, and how technological solutions can be used to address development problems around the world.  Panellists will examine how businesses, particularly Chinese enterprises, can be a key partner and investor to development.


Speakers at this session, moderated by Global Alliance Executive Director Sarbuland Khan, are Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization; Ilkka Rasanen, Intel; Fred Tipson, Microsoft; Mike Pereira, Development Gateway; and Zhijie Wang.
