Biographical Note
ALEXI TULBURE OF REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA CHAIRMAN OF SIXTH COMMITTEE
Alexei Tulbure, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Moldova, was elected Chairman of the Sixth Committee (Legal) on 24 May. (See Press Release GA/10597.)
Mr. Tulbure presented his credentials to the Secretary-General last September, having previously served as his country’s Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe from 2002 to 2006. He was President of the Higher Anthropological School, Moldova State University, from 2001 to 2002.
Between 1996 and 1998, he was Director of the Foreign Relations Department in Parliament, and a consultant to the Parliamentary Committee for Foreign Policy from 1994 to 1996. He was a senior specialist at the State Department for Interethnic Relations from 1990 to 1992, with responsibility for migration.
Before joining the Government, Mr. Tulbure was Vice-President of the BDT Company (1993-1994), where he oversaw external economic relations.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Moldova State University in 1990 and a master’s degree from the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary, in 1993.
