Biographical Note
NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF CÔTE D’IVOIRE PRESENTS CREDENTIALS

The new Permanent Representative of Côte d’Ivoire to the United Nations, Ilahiri Alcide Djedje, today presented his credentials to United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Djedje was, from January 2005, Special Adviser of the President of Côte d’Ivoire and Chargé d’affaires of his country. From 2002 to 2005, he worked as Assistant Director of diplomatic privileges and immunities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
From 1994 to 2000, Mr. Djedje was First Secretary and Consul at the Embassy of Côte d’Ivoire in South Africa, and First Secretary in charge of consular, economical and commercial affairs, as well at the Embassy of Côte d’Ivoire in South Africa.
Mr. Djedje was, from 1991 to 1994, a “Chargé d’études” at the Cabinet of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and, from 1989 to 1991, a Chief of the United Nations Division/ Economic Commission for Europe (ECE), as well at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He was at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from 1987 to 1989, in charge of cooperation with Africa, Chief of the African Division, and in charge of the cooperation with the organizations of the United Nations system and of the ECE.
A graduate of the National School of Administration of Abidjan and of the Institute of Political Studies of the University of Lyon II, in France, Mr. Djedje was born in 1956. He is married with three children.
