Nicholas D. Kristof to deliver Rafael M. Salas Memorial Lecture at headquarters
The lecture is part of a series that started in 1989 as a tribute to the first Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). The series recognizes the critical role that Mr. Salas played in creating a global awareness and consensus about the importance of population to social and economic development.
Nicholas D. Kristof, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and columnist for The New York Times, will deliver the tenth Rafael M. Salas Memorial.
The topic will be: “The Greatest Challenge in the Twenty-first Century: Gender Equality in Development” at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, 11 October 2006 in the Economic and Social Council Chamber at United Nations Headquarters.
