Department of public information, museum of jewish heritage to arrange

concert as part of daniel pearl world music days

On 11 October at 7 p.m., a concert featuring a performance by “Morley and Friends” will take place at the Museum of Jewish Heritage –- A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, in New York.  Organized as part of the Daniel Pearl World Music Days, the programme has been arranged by the Museum in conjunction with the “Holocaust and the United Nations” outreach programme of the Department of Public Information.

Inspired by the life and legacy of the slain journalist after whom they are named, “Daniel Pearl World Music Days” are held every October to unite thousands of musicians from over 60 countries in a global network of concerts promoting harmony for humanity.  Their mission is to use the universal language of music to help spread a message of hope and solidarity.  For more information, please visit www.music-days.org.

The 11 October concert will bring together the folk singer Morley with an array of international artists, including David Amram, Haale and Hassan Hakmoun, echoing a message of awareness, acceptance, unity and peace by joining voices in song and creative expression.  For more information, please visit www.morleymusic.org.

Created as a living memorial to those who perished during the Holocaust, the Museum honours those who died by celebrating their lives, cherishing the traditions that they embraced, examining their achievements and faith, and affirming the vibrant worldwide Jewish community that is their legacy today.
