Biographical Note
NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF MOLDOVA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS

Alexei Tulbure, the new Permanent Representative of Moldova to the United Nations, presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan today.
Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Tulbure was the Permanent Representative of Moldova to the Council of Europe (2002–2006). For one year before taking up that post, he served as President of the University’s “ Higher Anthropological School” in Kishineve, Moldova (2001–2002).
Mr. Tulbure was also Director of the Foreign Relations Department of the Parliament of Moldova from 1996 to 1998. For two years prior to that, he served as a consultant in the Parliamentary Committee for Foreign Policy (1994–1996). From 1990 to 1992, he was a senior specialist at Moldova’s State Department for Interethnic Relations, with a responsibility in migration.
Mr. Tulbure was the Vice-President of the BDT Company (1993-1994), where he was responsible for overseeing external economic relations.
The new Ambassador received a university degree in history from Moldova State University in 1990, and his masters degree, also in history, from the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary, in 1993.
Born in Moldova in 1966, Mr. Tulbure is married with two children.
