SECRETARY-GENERAL CONDEMNS COUP D’ETAT IN MAURITANIA
The following statement was issued today by the Spokesman for UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan:
The Secretary-General condemns the coup d’état in Mauritania on 3 August.
He calls for the restoration of constitutional order and underlines the need for the full respect for human rights and the rule of law.
