MAJOR-GENERAL REPINC APPOINTED CHIEF MILITARY OBSERVER
IN UN MILITARY OBSERVER GROUP IN INDIA AND PAKISTAN
United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan has appointed Major General Dragutin Repinc of Croatia as Chief Military Observer in the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP).
Major General Repinc was born in 1959 in Zagreb, Croatia. He attended the Military High School in Zagreb, the Military Academy in Belgrade and its engineering branch in Karlovac. General Repinc has been an instructor at the Command Staff School, the War School for Military Operations Other Than War (including peace support operations) and served as Commander of the Officers School. From 1999 to 2003, he served as Chief of the Operational Panning Division, General Staff. Since 2003, General Repinc has been Deputy Head of the Operations Department, General Staff, and Chief of Staff, Army Headquarters in Karlovac.
General Repinc has been decorated with the Patriotic Defence War Memorial Medal, the National Gratitude Medal for 5 and 10 years of distinguished service, the Order of the Croatian Trefoil, the Order of the Croatian Pleter, and the Medal for Participation in Operation Storm.
General Repinc is married and has two sons.
