SECURITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE ON CÔTE D’IVOIRE TO RECEIVE

 

MONTHLY MEDIA MONITORING REPORTS FROM MISSION THERE

At its sixth meeting, held on 18 July 2005, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1572 (2004) concerning Côte d’Ivoire requested that the media monitoring reports prepared by the United Nations Operation in Côte d’Ivoire (UNOCI) pursuant to paragraph 6 of Security Council resolution 1572 (2004) be submitted on a monthly basis instead of the current quarterly submission.  In response to this request, a representative from the Department of Peacekeeping Operations who attended the meeting informed the members of the Committee that, following consultations with UNOCI and starting in July 2005, the media monitoring reports would be prepared and submitted on a monthly basis.
