DEVELOPMENT FUND FOR WOMEN HOSTS PARALLEL EVENTS

 

DURING WOMEN’s COMMISSION 28 FEB – 11 MARCH

 


The United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) is involved in a number of events during the forty-ninth session of the Commission on the Status of Women, and the review of Beijing+10, from 28 February to 11 March 2005 at Headquarters.  The UNIFEM events are on a wide range of issues related to the advancement of women’s human rights.  The events focus on gains that have been made towards gender equality, but also the need for greater implementation and accountability to ensure that challenges that remain are dealt with effectively, and that women’s perspectives are recognized as central to solutions.
