Biographical Note
New permanent representative of san marino presents credentials

The new Permanent Representative of San Marino, Daniele Bodini, today presented his credentials to United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
Mr. Bodini has been his country’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations since 2004, after having been an Attaché there since 1995. He became a diplomat for San Marino in 1993 after a career in private industry dating from 1972.
Educated in Rome, Mr. Bodini holds master’s degrees in civil engineering and architecture from the University of Rome. He also has a master’s degree in business administration from Columbia University in New York.
Mr. Bodini is Chairman of the American Italian Cancer Foundation and of the Foundation for Italian Art and Culture, both based in New York. He is President of New York’s Friends of San Patrignano and Guarantor of the Italian Academy at Columbia University. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Advisors of Columbia University’s School of Business.
Mr. Bodini was born in Erba, Italy on 20 December 1945. He is divorced and the father of a daughter, Francesca.
