CHAIRMAN OF AL-QAIDA AND TALIBANSANCTIONS COMMITTEE


WILL BRIEF MEMBER STATES, 18 FEBRUARY


Heraldo Muñoz, Chairman of the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1267 (1999) concerning Al-Qaida and the Taliban and associated individuals and entities will hold a briefing for all interested Member States on the main aspects of resolution 1526 (2004) adopted on 30 January 2004.  In particular, the briefing will focus on action to be taken by all States to implement the arms embargo, travel ban and assets freeze in connection with individuals and entities belonging to or associated with Al-Qaida and the Taliban, and other issues related to the new resolution.
