over 200 young leaders from junior chamber international to meet
on Millennium Goals at un headquarters, 9 – 10 july
Over 200 members of Junior Chamber International (JCI) representing over 60 countries in the world will meet at United Nations Headquarters on Friday and Saturday, 9 and 10 July. During the course of the two-day programme, sponsored by the Department of Public Information, they will be briefed on the eight United Nations Millennium Development Goals by a variety of United Nations officials. At the conclusion of each briefing, there will be a presentation of the best JCI project, by a JCI national organization, related to the specific United Nations Millennium Development Goal covered by the speaker. Additionally, the group will be briefed on the methods and findings of the Panel of Eminent Persons on Civil Society and United Nations Relationships whose report was released on 21 June.
The Junior Chamber International is a worldwide federation of young leaders and entrepreneurs. Founded in 1918 in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, the organization has expanded to over 100 countries around the world. It currently has 200,000 members and over one million alumni worldwide.
