CORRECTION

In Press Release SEA/1781, issued yesterday, 5 August, the second and third paragraphs from the bottom of page 4 should read:

The Russian Federation gave notice that it would not comply with the Commission’s recommendations on the format and structure of contractors’ annual reports, approved last year, which, it said, amounted to a revision of existing rules.  However, it would adhere to the regulations adopted in 2000. 

Commenting on the Commission’s actions on biodiversity, the Russian Federation said any proposals on the issue should be placed before the Council, since it was the Council that defined the role of the Authority.
