GENERAL COMMITTEE RECOMMENDS DEFERRAL OF QUESTION OF COMORIAN ISLAND

OF MAYOTTE TO GENERAL ASSEMBLY’S FIFTY-NINTH SESSION

The General Committee this morning decided to recommend the deferral of the consideration of the question of the Comorian Island of Mayotte to the fifty-ninth session of the General Assemly, as proposed by the representative of Gabon and supported by the representative of Luxembourg. 

At its first meeting on 17 September, the General Committee had decided to defer to a later date consideration of this item.

The General Assembly will consider the report of the General Committee on today’s action at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, 10 November.
