GENERAL ASSEMBLY’S AD HOC COMMITTEE ON FINAL REVIEW OF NEW AGENDA
FOR DEVELOPMENT OF AFRICA NOTES AMENDMENTS TO ITS DRAFT REPORT
The Ad Hoc Committee of the General Assembly on the Final Review and Appraisal of the United Nations New Agenda for the Development of Africa in the 1990s (UN-NADAF), met briefly this afternoon to hear comments and proposed amendments to its draft report.
Jean de Ruyt (Belgium), Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee, took note of suggested changes to the text by the representatives of South Africa and Denmark. He said the text would be submitted for processing and translation, taking the comments and interventions made into account.
He reminded the Committee that the proposed text covered only the procedural part of its work. In its final form, the draft report would also include the text of the related draft resolution. Once that text was ready, the Committee would proceed to consider and adopt the draft report in its entirety, he said.
The Chairman said that the Ad Hoc Committee would continue its consideration of the draft resolution in informal meetings to follow.
