SECRETARY-GENERAL’S SPECIAL ENVOY TO REVISIT MYANMAR, 1–4 JUNE

The following statement was issued today by the Office of the Spokesman for Secretary-General Kofi Annan:

Razali Ismail, the Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Myanmar, will visit Yangon from 1 to 4 June to help facilitate the process of democratization and national reconciliation in Myanmar.  This will be his fourth mission to Myanmar.

During his stay in Yangon, Mr. Razali will hold discussions with officials of the Government and the National League for Democracy, including Daw Aung

San Suu Kyi.
