NEW CHAIRMEN OF UNITED NATIONS SECURITY BODIES IN FEBRUARY

In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following are the new Chairmen of the United Nations security bodies for February:

Security Council

Saïd Ben Mustapha (Tunisia) succeeds Kishore Mahbubani (Singapore) as President of the Security Council.

Military Staff Committee

Air Vice-Marshall John H. Thompson (United Kingdom) succeeds Lieutenant General Anatoly I. Meleshkov (Russian Federation) as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
